Remove "Shutdow"

I’m in the process of wanting to upgrade from analog to digital with our mixer at a small church. The current architecture is all plugged into Furman power sequencers that are controlled by one central button. This way the amps are turned off first, then the mixer, etc. and powering up is done in the correct sequence as well. My issue that i’m running into with the shutdown scenario I can’t simply have the furman “shut power to the plug” I haven’t seen any docs on being able to “tell” an SQ-5 for instance to shutdown through an RS-232 port, etc. Has anyone ever implemented a sequencing power conditioner with either the SQ or the CQ series mixers?

Regardless of whether it’s CQ or SQ: You don’t like the topic suggestion “Remove Shutdow” either.
But whether this function exists or not, unfortunately, wouldn’t change the problem with your - excuse me - obviously unsuitable operating staff.

Anyone who doesn’t even want to read or follow a note with a shutdown sequence and only has a quick end in mind shouldn’t be doing this kind of work.
But they’re probably not interested volunteers; they were persuaded or forced to do it.
And there’s no technical solution to this problem.
Such complex and high-quality technology usually requires professionally trained or at least highly dedicated staff.
It was only here in the forum that I realized that many churches seem to have a very different view of this.

As far as I know, there is unfortunately no such possibility.

If I’m not mistaken there is a midi command for both the QU and SQ. Just need an automated way to send it when the power down sequence starts.

Maybe I’m just missing it.
Or could it actually be that you know of some kind of secret command that isn’t included in the official MIDI protocol of the SQ?
It would be really interesting if such useful things existed.

There isn’t any command to shutdown SQ via MIDI or RS232, I’m afraid. I love the idea of a secret bit to the protocol!

You can safely power the mixer through the power sequencer - just leave the power button in the on position.

Operationally, your technicians will need to ensure that any USB recording is stopped prior to operating the power off sequence.

QU does have remote shutdown but you’d still need to manually toggle it back on again, so…it’s not of great usefulness.
