It would be nice to give Mute Groups custom names.
I assigned some Mute Groups to the Soft Function Buttons and it would be very helpfull if there would be a speaking name for each Mute Group to avoid mistakes.

I’m not at my mixer right now, but I’m pretty sure you can name the mute groups.
That would be great. I tried but found no way.
Here’s a funny thing. @tims is right, I couldn’t find a way to change the name on the mixer. Mixpad gives me a window to change the name, but it doesn’t actually change the name. Mixing Station, however, does. So the capability is in the mixer firmware. They just need to fix Mixpad.
Thanks! I tried it today after the hint in your first post and got the same result. Except that I didn’t know about Mixing Station.
Does the mixer itself display the (Mixing Station) renamed mute groups?
It still would be nice to have this feature on the mixer itself, without using another device.
Just a side note: I have to apologize: My screenshot was from the CQ MixPad, not QU.
The picture I posted was of my mixer. Beta version of Mixing Station, but the next release version should be all good.
Correct! This is my experience as well on both the QU-5 and MixPad.
Just a note that the current release version of Mixing Station for PC and OSX, 2.5.0, writes and reads mute group names. They display on the desk, as well. iOS is slower to update, but it shouldn’t be long now.
I absolutely need this! Too many close calls with almost muting the mics when meant to mute the FX only. lol
