Given that PAFL volume controls on the new QU5/6/7 ranges can now only be found and adjusted by the smart dial inside the SETUP → PAFL tab Please could I request perhaps in a firmware update that this be assignable both to a fader input as well as a SoftKey command. It would also be appreciated if this could be a full level control rather than just a Trim?
This would alleviate some of the issues created by omitting the ALT output level control knob previously included on the QU16 which was a very efficient way to control monitor levels without having to assign it to a fader which is now the only way to do it.
This would give far more flexibility to using the QU as a broadcast console when needing to set input levels on sources in control room enviroments using this clever patching hack to direct PAFL’s to monitor speakers rather than just headphone mixes - please fforward to around 9.18 in:
