Hi
I hooked an RCA cable from my Tascam 5-disc CD player to the in of the i-live and got lots of static with barely audible sound. Am I doing something wrong?

Check that you have definately used the SPDIF input on the T112 and the SPDIF output on the Tascam. Check sample rate out of the Tascam. iLive natively needs 48kHz. check your cabling quality.
