Save FBA Settings

One problem that should be simple to fix.

  • Save the FBA assistant settings on power restart and also save them in the scenes.

When you power on the unit, the outputs all come up with “fixed” and “hold” selected in the FBA. Those settings don’t get saved in the scenes and the state isn’t even preserved between restarts of the unit.

I always want to start with “hold” NOT being selected and “live” selected. That way if there is any initial feedback when I start things up, at least there is the protection from the live setting being engaged.

And actually that’s the way I use it mostly. I rarely have any “fixed” feedback set because I rarely have any feedback under normal operation. It’s only when a handheld mic gets moved over to a monitor or the singer goes out in front of the main speakers. So I generally always have “live” selected and “hold” off so that I’m getting live feedback suppression. But none of those settings are preserved, it always comes up with “hold” and “fixed” set.

I agree with gabo.
I love the FBA feature! I have the CQ18t installed in a house of worship and always use it in the “Live” mode with HOLD button not selected.
However, when I am not around, I would like other members to be able to use a couple of microphones (without feedback). Having default startup with FBA HOLD button unselected and in the “Live” mode would be very helpful. If this feature settings can be stored as part of the Scenes or Shows that would be helpful too.

Doh! I didn’t realise that the FBA settings weren’t saved in a scene after selecting ‘Live’ in rehearsal.
At soundcheck of our first show with a CQ20B last night in a hall that sounded like a swimming pool, it took my old brain a long time understand why the sound was deteriorating as I used PEQ to combat it.
What settings would experienced users of this FBA recommend for optimum live use?

The FBA settings are saved and start off from their last setting when you power up. It doesn’t revert to a flat EQ were you have to start a fresh.

The FBA always starts with Hold selected and probably for good reason. I also saved some of my FBA settings within the user saved section.
