Scene filter with using Group to Group

Hi!

I modified a show file and am using group to group routing.

The scene filters were fine before using group to group.

Inside my scenes I normally block everything, and then start to allow only the items I want to change. With using Group to Group routing it changed all scene filters and included sections inside the routing tab - group to group area and the groups I used to do group to group routing.

Is that normal? Or is that the case because I used an older show file?

This has nothing to do with group to group.

Whenever you change your MixRack configuration and add any Aux/Fx/Group/Matrix, they get added to the filter section. But previously set filters can not know about these new Busses, so they get added “unfiltered”.

So when changing your Bus configuration, ALWAYS check your filters, or you will run into unwanted behaviour, when recalling scenes.

It is requested for quite some time to get a way aroung this. Not sure, this will be possible, though. A&H never commented on this….

Sure, if I change the config I know and I would expect that.

But if I simply use group to group routing with groups that are there already i wouldn’t expect such a behavior….

ok, then I have got you wrong, sorry. Will check with my setup…

I see, what you are talking about.

With fx 2.11 and this new function they added the new filter “GrtoGr SourcePoint”. So everybody updating to fw 2.11 should be aware of this and check all their filters, like having changed the MixRack configuration.

Thought maybe I was going crazy. I think both of the scenarios above have bit me a couple times recently.

It would be nice if A&H would notify people of “breaking changes” like this. If an update affects the scene recall filters for example, it is a “breaking change” IMHO. A simple note in the firmware release notes is all it would take….

Like the pop up that says that new features will not be reset when loading an older show file?
