Greetings,
The current show I am working on I am using uFX slots on different channels for different songs. I originally UnBlocked Other>Insert Patchbay. After running through several songs, and thinking I was loosing my mind, I noticed the uFX slots were not changing Insert Channel or Insert A/B during scene recall.
In troubleshooting I did find that UnBlocking Input Patching and Output Patching did successfully recall the uFX insert channel/point.
Is there a better way to accomplish this? UnBlocking Input/Output Patching causes issues for night to night changes in Inputs or PA drive lines.
Quick summary: Trying to scene recall which channel uFX slots are inserted on, while still blocking physical Input/Output patching.
Was able to dig deeper into this offline. The situation seems to apply to all types of inserts: Physical jacks, FX, uFX. In order for channel inserts to be recalled in scenes, Both Input Patch Bay and Insert Patch bay have to be unblocked.
To me this seems like an odd behavior as Unblocking only Insert Patch Bay seems to have no effect on Input or Buss Inserts unless Input Patchbay or Output Patchbay are unblocked.
Additionally, since Input Patchbay has to be unblocked, now scenes are driving changes into Input Routing and Gain/48v/etc.
For our current show, unfortunately this is a show stopper as there seems to be no way to have FX/uFX insert points change scene to scene while allowing Input patching or gains to change night to night without stepping through each scene to update. Additionally gain changes during the show would not be possible as each scene would drive new Preamp values.
A Scene Update on all Scenes also will not fix night to night patch changes, as Update would overwrite all Input Inserts with the current FX/uFX insert points.
Hi Guys,
I was going to do a new post but I found this one about a problem that seem to me as bug in the soft. we work with a C1500 on monitor on a setup, and we made Scenes to recall with sends on fader for each monitor mix. these scenes are fully blocked with the recall filters except for the scribble strip… this session is sometimes used with a CDM32 with DX168 or with CDM48 (with or without the DX) I know we could make a input A,B,C,D but we decide to just change the input patch. We noticed the every time we change an input patch, the preamp recall filter of every scenes uncheck ! this shouldn’t be…
I understand that when you have new parameters (like making a new stereo channel creating the “width” parameter) it doesn’t know which state the recall filter should be. but when you change an input patch ?
hope I’m clear in my explanations.
