From what I see admin can not protect certain presets.
Checking permission in /configure/profiles/user for a user to ‘Modify Presets’ allows global access to presets.
Case in point a more junior tech, but experienced enough to want total control of unit without limits, this tech changes settings at times which makes me have to upload a restore and check everything everytime he has been on the system and this adds unnecessary time to setups. He has his own profile which should be enough but somehow manages somehow to change other settings perhaps subconsciously or consciously, but it always makes extra hassle.
Admin should be able to lockout certain presets and make them password protected but allow full access to the rest of the unit. That way I could just log on and load my presets knowing they have not been mysteriously changed somehow.
If Allen and Heath could make it so user can only change their presets or Admin could have some password protected presets or make presets to be assigned per user and only accessible to that user.
Checking a box that makes ‘Modify presets’ a global security permission seems like a bad choice, but is my only option to allow my junior tech to have total control of his presets and modify them at will.
If anybody has a work around or solution please let me know.
If professional venues are going to install this unit as their main speaker processor this is going to become a common issue if it hasn’t already.
- I’d like to see a permissions box in /configure/profiles/user that is - ‘limit preset changes to user presets’ and another that says - ‘global access to presets’. To get the best possible option for versatility.
