Setting LR GEQ before PEQ a good practice?

Hi there,

I’m a pro drummer, not a pro sound tech so I apologize if this is a silly question. I am wondering if it’s a good practice to set the main LR Graphic EQ before setting any channel strip PEQ’s? If so, how would you recommend to best set the graphic EQ (ie- with an iPod track, through a mic). Any input would be appreciated.

Also, do you save your GEQ’s and PEQ’s and reuse them as a starting place from gig to gig?

Thanks for any input,

Jamie

the idea behind this is to match your PA system to the room and your sound
so yes it is a good idea to start with the house EQ

use a piece of music that you know well

Reuse is a good idea as well, saves time…
