Hi there, new user of the CQ20B coming from a Soundcraft UI24R.
With the UI I was used to be able to switch flawlessly from one band to another as they have for example different stereo linked tracks.
It seems the CQ20B does not work that way. So it’s mandatory to have a USB key on which the shows are stored and switch from show to show by this menu ?
The CQ series consoles (like the QU and SQ series) only has internal memory large enough for one Show file. You can save Show files on other devices, so while this is a real inconvenience IMHO, it’s not an insurmountable problem.
As you noted, you can use a USB drive to save/store/recall show files from. I also believe you can save show files on whatever mobile device you are using to control the system from as well. So if you have a phone/tablet loaded with the A&H software that you use to mix with, I believe you can save/store/load show files from the A&H software. If you use a third party app to mix (like Mixing Station), you’ll need to make sure that software supports this as well (FYI - Mixing Station does).
Yes, as you say it’s “just” a real inconvenience. Only thing I don’t get why the show menu and the scenes menu aren’t in the same place.
And also, why we can’t see which scene has been selected on the main screen.
