Show—- scenes issues

Ok I got the cq12t. And im happy im new to digital mixing So with that I’m a mobile DJ and I had Dbx pa2 so I moved over to cq 12 as I was tired of running 4 long sets of wire to each speaker and sub. So when someone mention this mixer I’d figure why not since I could get the best of both worlds of less wire and more headroom. So now I will explain the problem I’m facing. When I start of the gig I used to have the subs muted and then bring them in once the party was turnt up it was pretty straight forward on the Dbx pa2 now when I tried to set up show/sceen And all I did was was save a show /scene with everything at zero and the next scene /show. With -10 db on the peq at all the frequencies 100 and less now when I go to add it to the soft buttons every time I push 1-2 with one “sub on” and 2 “sub off”. Both buttons keep going to button # 1. What I want was something similar to the Dbx where I could have the bass low and then when I push a button for it to be at full volume. The only way it has been working is that I would have to have the “sub off “ already recalled and then when I’m ready push button 1 for the sub to come on. Any advice will be welcomed as I really wanted. The option to. Turn on /off subs with the soft key buttons. Please tell me I’m doing something wrong

Are you really sure that using your dbx wasn’t necessary to supply the components of your sound system with the correct frequencies and levels?
I hope you’ve considered that the supposed advantage of only having to run half as many cables means, among other things, that you now send the lowest subwoofer frequencies at full level also to the remaining speakers …

If I understand the rest correctly, you’ve already created two scenes, ‘Sub off’ and ‘Sub on,’ and want to switch between them with one softkey, right?
Theoretically (I don’t have a CQ), it should be possible to program e.g. Softkey 1 in Scene 1 to Recall Scene 2, and then program the same Softkey in Scene 2 to Recall Scene 1.
