I would like to use the sq to record live shows via the USB-b output to my laptop, to them give the recorded tracks to the performers. Also I’ll possibly do some play back through the console for show files.
Can anyone recomend a simple record and playback(no mixing or editing needed) program compatible with windows 7. I was excited when I heard about
The program “recall” but it seems to be be for apple products.
Waves Tracks Live, free and works fine for tracking/playback.
Been using it for several shows both on Dante consoles, and on my SQ5 with no problems at all.
Just make sure your harddrive is fast enough to write the tracks.
Does the waves tracks free work without a waves sound card? !! ?
I have an HP Envy14 with Intel core i5 m460 @2.53 2.53 with 8gb of ram on a 64bit operating system
Yes it works without a waves soundcard, as it is a simple normal multitrack recording/playback program.
Regarding your pc, part of it comes down to how fast a harddrive you have.
For all 32 tracks I would recommend upgrading to a SSD drive, if you do not already have that in the computer.
I’ve been told if an ssd drive fails the information is lost, but a spinning platter can be recovered. I do have an external ssd

I guess I’ll try it as is and see what happens.
THANKS!
True, but if your spinning disk is too slow to write the data, then you miss the recording anyway.
I record onto a SSD, then transfer the recording to a USB spinning disk and finally to my NAS at home (that has a backup done once a day)
Reaper - inexpensive, very efficient. Can handle many tracks at 96k. I highly recommend that you look at it. An evaluation copy is available and is fully functional. They give you about a month of free use.
+1
Tracks Live
Stable, free, simple, efficient
Yes! Tracks live! I’ve downloaded that and will start testing tomorrow!
Waves tracks live for the win! Exactly what I was looking for!
