This is not an Allen & Heath issue - it is an SKB issue.
I just purchased the SQ5 ( as you might know from my other post) and I also purchased an SKB R100 rack case, the SKB ears and SKB AV8 shelf - all of which are supposed to be compatible with the SQ5.
The ears came bent in transit and I had to bend them back to straight ( I don’t have great luck as you might have already guessed).
So… then I installed the ears on the mixer and then the mixer in the case all good so far…
However, when I attempted to install the shelf, I noticed a bit of a design flaw. The screws allowing the shelf to pivot and fold protrude on the inside of the brackets so far that they hit the edge of the mixer - no matter how I try to avoid this from happening . I have attempted over and over to try to very carefully get the shelf installed using 2 people but I cannot do so without the screws hitting the mixer. I even tried using a couple of washers underneath the bracket mounts to raise the shelf up very slightly to avoid contact with the mixer but it still touches. It has already made a small mark on the mixer which I’m sure no-one else will ever notice but I know it’s there and I can’t let that happen on the other side. I immediately removed the shelf when I noticed this and I have sent SKB a message asking how on earth I am supposed to do this. Maybe others simply don’t care that the mixer will be scratched and damaged by the screws but I do.
Has anyone else experienced this and overcome the problem???
I use the AV8 shelf on the 1SKB-R104W 4U + 10U case with the SKB rack ears. It’s very tight but it does fit. So it’s either your R100 case or the fact that the shelf bracket got bent in transit. Best of luck.

You are probably right…I contacted SKB and sent them photos. The rep said the same thing - perhaps the shelf bracket is bent or something… I do think that screw is seriously close to the mixer though and it concerns me.
