I recently updated to 2.11 from the version before it (I think that was 2.03) and I have noticed slower scene recalls. I have a filtered scene that updates the gate/expander on 24 channels. I have a quiet, medium and normal setting. A few months ago I remember being impressed how I could tap the assigned soft keys for those scenes in rapid succession and it would take .1-.2 seconds to change.
Now it seems to be taking about 1.2 seconds even when I create two new filtered test scenes where the only non blocked scope is the mute parameter of a particular channel.
Another factor in this, is that the metering on both the surface and dlive app and mixing station pause for about a second during the scene recall. I dont think this used to happen before.
I don’t know for sure that this is tied to me upgrading to 2.11, but I did upgrade about 3 weeks ago and it’s the only major thing that has changed about my show file.
Has anyone else noticed a sluggishness in scene recall? I wonder if this is a performance hit/trade for adding on the newer features?
I can’t say I have noticed any slow down in recalling scenes since upgrading to 2.11 but I did notice that the alleged fix for speeding up the recall of shows has made recalling them even slower.
Yes I have noticed a significant slowing in scene recalls over the last few versions too. Mostly in a theatre workflow along with some other issues in later versions.
No crossfade times for me. As I said, pre 2.0 versions I was doing very quick scene changes. They were quick enough that if a filtered gate scene needed to lower the thresholds for many channels at once I could hit it right on the downbeat of the section needing the quieter gates and it would be nearly instantly ready to go, now there is a noticeable delay causing me to need to approximate the delay and fire the scene a second or so beforehand.
