Is there a way to program a soft button to have no other function than to flash when pressed and stop flashing when pressed again? I’d like something like this so that the guys on stage can hit a soft button on my mixer which is stage side to get my attention when I’m out in the crowd using my iPad to mix.

You could set one up as a tap delay on an effect you’re not using.

Is there a mute group, or DCA (mute) that you don’t use?
You could set a button for that.
Or an unused channel mute etc
I was able to do this effectively on Mixing Station due to its customization capabilities. This way I can have a dedicated small button - that I have placed at the top of the screen- that flashes and gets my attention. I assigned it to soft button 8 which in turn is simply assigned to PAFL of an unused channel.
At shows I use both Mixing Station and SQ Mix pad. I prefer to mix on SQ mix pad because it is so much like the QU pad set up that I have used for years and I am very familiar with it but I also use Mixing station so I can customize what I need and the REGAIN function is GOLD!
