SOS: DM0 Bricked After Today's Dante V3 1.0.3 Update

We followed the update procedure today, and after a restart the DM0 does not turn on. The power lights 1 & 2 on the back are green, but nothing else comes on. We have tried letting it sit, we have checked the fuses, and we have removed the Dante card - all with the power off/disconnected and then attempting to turn it back on. Any ideas?

We attemped the recovery mode by turning the unit off and setting dip switch #3 to the on position and then turning the unit on again - same problem. No love. No power.

I can confirm the cooling fans are spinning up, and I can see blue LEDs inside the unit turning on (I have all I/O cards removed rn).

You need to open this as an urgent support request.

We will. Waiting to hear from our US Dealer first. Expecting that first thing tomorrow. Thank you!

Don’t wait - UK is 6 hours ahead. Jack & team will be way ahead of the US dealer by the time they wake up. Just let them know who your dealer is and they can work through AM&S to expedite if they want that unit in hand.

Ok sounds good. I will submit our request now. Thx.

In view of the severity of this please post an update when the root cause is discovered for the benefit of all here. If there’s an issue with the firmware I’m sure A&H will promptly withdraw the update but if it was something else we need to know so we can avoid whatever it was.

The firmware is for the Dante card only, it is separated from the DM normally.
But it is interesting to know what happened.

Yeah I get that, I was thinking of Dante V.3 firmware which is currently distributed by A&H rather than the Dante updater. It would be interesting to know what version card was involved.

Hi, everyone. We fixed the issue this morning. Resetting the network config with the small button on the front did it. I’m still irritated af, given I’ve been working weekly with iLive and dLive as long as they’ve existed, have done a network reset prior, but never considered it to be needed to effectively ‘unbrick’ a mixrack. It was so strange to turn the thing on and have NONE of the usual startup LED activity (like, normally all the DX/ME expansion ports blink) but to then find out ‘resetting the network’ was needed. It just does not make sense from a troubleshooting standpoint, and I have to think resetting the network does a bit more under the hood.

Anyway, we changed the IP back to what it’s supposed to be, turned it off, loaded up the 3 I/O cards, started it back up, and we’re golden. Dante card is fine as well.

It’s the v3 of the card and we’re running firmware 2.02 - I’ll be curious if anyone else experiences this issue with a DM0.

Thanks for coming back with the remedy. Did A&H say what the actual cause of the issue was? Agreed it doesn’t make much sense without more information.
