Source Point Selection Not Affecting USB Recording on CQ-12T

Hi everyone,

I’m using a CQ-12T and trying to understand how the Source Point selection affects USB recording. According to the manual, I should be able to choose where in the signal chain the USB output is tapped from, but in my tests, the selection doesn’t seem to make a difference.

For example, if I have a microphone on Input 1 and apply EQ to this input, the recording always includes the EQ processing, regardless of which source point I select, whether it’s Post Preamp, Post Compressor, Post AMM, etc.

Am I misunderstanding the source point selection works?

If by “USB recording” you mean USB drive (USB-A socket = USB stick), then I think that unfortunately multitrack recordings are not possible this way, only stereo recordings (mixes), where the source point obviously has no effect.
For a (multi-track) recording of your input 1, you would have to use an SD medium or connect a suitable external device, such as a computer with appropriate software, via the USB-B socket.
