can I record mutes and unmutes from SQ tracks in Logic’s sequencer, and then play back the recorded data to the mixing console so that Logic controls the SQ’s mutes?
(I’m asking because using A&H MIDI Control 2.10, mutes and unmutes don’t work with Logic.)
I use the MIDI faders on the SQ to control Logic Pro (A&H MIDI Control 2.2).
Mixer: SQ
MIDI Channel: 2
Protocol: Mackie Control (Standard)
TCP/IP
IP address set to custom and enter the IP of the desk and check the “Connect” box
You also use MIDI over USB, which ever you prefer.
With that it works perfectly. Press mute on the SQ mutes the corresponding track in Logic.
If you record the automation in Logic, then it will record those mutes / unmutes and fader moves just the same as if you’d made them on screen with a mouse.
Playback - ensure automation is playing back too, and Logic will replay the automation you just recorded.
I hope this helps. I’m time limited at the moment to get any deeper into this, but I can confirm it definitely works.
I don’t have the SQ console with me right now, but when you say
“Playback - ensure automation is playing back too, and Logic will replay the automation you just recorded,”
that’s fine in Logic, but I wanted to be sure that the automation played in Logic can also mute/unmute on the SQ mixer. Can you confirm that the controls work both ways?
