I see a teaser (Coming Soon" for an SQ Control app, presumably similar to the Qu Control app. Is there a timeline for it’s release? I’m setting up a SQ-5 for a small congregation, and something customizable, that lives in between the simple but limited SQ4You and the full-on MixPad, would be perfect.
Do they want/need beta testers? (less than subtle hint at volunteering)
I would expect it to be released at the same time as the pending firmware update. I don’t think it is a stretch to assume that A&H has had to add programming to the firmware to allow for this new app/communication (although that is only an assumption on my part). If this is true, it means that no SQ console is going to support/work with the SQ Control App until it is updated with the new firmware. Therefore, there is no point in releasing the app before the firmware, and even if you somehow received a beta version of the app, it wouldn’t communicate with your console unless you also received a beta for the firmware update.
We expect the pending firmware update to be released when the newly announced SQ Rack actually starts shipping. It’s been officially announced, but it has not actually been released for sale yet.
The SQ Control app is available directly from the Apple and Android app stores. It is not available directly from the A&H website (which caused my initial confusion as well).
