SQ Drive recordings longer than 4 hours

Hi. I know that SQ Drive stereo recording only allows to record files 4GB max. I’m doing lots of corporate AV where there is a need to record audio of a whole conference, which can last whole day long. Is there an option to start new recording automatically? If not it would be nice to have.

At least so far, such a thing isn’t possible.
But perhaps the fact that a 48 kHz mono recording can be over 8 hours long might help you.
If you need it in stereo, you could record both channels separately and later combine them to a stereo file.

I’m guessing there are a couple breaks during the sessions where you could stop and restart a new recording.
That said if this is a must have recording I would be running a back up recorder as well.
The times I’ve needed such a recording I ran a recording the USB and to my external Tascam SD card recorder.
Going back further when recording to CD’s I had two recorders, when one disc was getting close to the end I started the other recorder so there was an over lap.

@mikec we are mostly recording video with audio, and audio recording is only a backup, so it’s not super critical. But I’m sure, if I needed to start recording during breaks, then i will forget to do it at the most important time

If auto record is not possible right now, can I ask mods to move topic to feature request?

Is recording to a DAW on a laptop an option?
Could in theory start recording and leave it go all day.
Or at least start and stop a minimal number of times. Easier to choose a few seconds here and there to do these record breaks.
