SQ MixPad v1.6.1

According to the Apple App Store, there is a new MixPad (1.6.1).

Any info on what changes have been made?

Also, how can you tell what version you have running (on an iPad)?

Thx Bob

You can see the version number before you connect offline or to a online device at the bottom of the screen.

And the 1.6.1 is from April 2025.

No, the 1.6.1 iOS MixPad app was released tonight.

If they do it without infos, hardly anything will have changed.
At the very least a, in my opinion, less favorable character set with wider line spacing was used, so the text in the fields no longer appears as nicely centered as before (see image).
And in any case, even after 7 months they once again “forgot” to allow the creation or editing of the cue list in offline mode. (

So it does get branded on the website as a “Maintenance Release” after the main Feature Release of 1.6.0. The SQ Firmware release notes state the following which, with the lack of MixPad specific release notes as far as I can see, I can only suggest links to similar functionality on the MixPad app as well, even though the console and app are not an exact 1:1 match in functionality and UI layout. Other than that loose steer I am at a loss as well in terms of the definite changes between 1.5.1 and 1.6.1 on the app alone.

V1.6.1

Issues fixed:

ID-2321: Fixed issue where Parallel Path values were not displayed

ID-2323: Fixed missing track playback on SQ-Drive

ID-2320: Recalling USB Input Patch library updates channel names correctly

ID-2307: Fixed naming issue where SQ-Drive Multitrack recordings could become corrupted

ID-2310: Fixed issue with some User Permissions blocking screens incorrectly

ID-2311: Mighty Compressor now displays correct parameters

ID-2306: Fixed screen update issue with DCA and Mute Group members

ID-2316: Fixed issue whereby some channel LCDs could display incorrect colours on boot

ID-2308: Fixed incorrect user permissions blocking access to Talkback settings

ID-2309: Mixer now shuts down correctly when multitrack audio is playing

ID-2312: Fixed issue with GEQ noise on scene recall

ID-2325: Compressor Parallel path now maintains correctly displayed values

Just to note, the third number of the MixPad version has nothing to do with the firmware version.
For example, there were 12 different 1.5 firmware versions (up to 1.5.11), but there was only one MixPad version 1.5.0 for all of them.

Too bad the issue with the Input and Output values for Peak Limiter 76 (iPad settings do not match board settings (they jump to “24” on iPad) after switching channels on the iPad) didn’t get fixed. So I still can’t use the compresser I want to use (and paid for) when mixing with an iPad. Bummer
