Sq rack as Dante encoder

Essentially I’m trying to run my SQ7 over Dante and use the peices I have to do it.

I have an SQ 7 at Foh and a copper split at monitors.

Can I add an sq rack in my split to link all my channels together via S link stage heads and control the sq7 via Dante to my Foh position without losing head am control. I don’t need the control at the sq rack I need it by Foh

I cannot use slink because we are running over fiber.

Essentially

Slink AR24x12 +AR84+analog inputs on SQ Rack with Dante card. —>. SQ7 at Foh with Dante Card to control 48 channels with head amp

Unfortunately, your plan can’t be implemented this way, as the head amps of the stage boxes can only be controlled by the console to which they are connected.

Since no one has commented on this yet, here are two more thoughts:

As far as I know, it would also be possible to connect dSnake over fiber optics.
So that could possibly be a first step.

And theoretically, it could also be possible to connect a second SQ console to the monitor position with an additional SLink card in your SQ7 and over the same fiber optic cable via gigaACE.
What do the network experts here say about this?

That setup will pass the audio from the SQ Rack and stage boxes to the FOH SQ7 and vice versa just fine. However as already noted, you will not have preamp control of the SQ Rack or stage boxes on the FOH SQ7. You will have digital trim (which is +/- 24db) for those inputs on the SQ 7, but the preamp controls will only be available on the SQ Rack.

The easiest solution IMHO is to run software (like SQ MixPad or the third party app Mixing Station) on a device at the FOH position. By using the software, you will be able to control the preamps located on stage. Honestly you should only have to set the preamp settings once during sound check and then they shouldn’t need to be touched again during the actual event.
