SQ5+2xDX168 channel issue

Hello guys,

maybe i understand something wrong, but i have this issue:

i connect two DX168 on a SQ5. In the Patching i have now 32 Input Channels on SLink.
But the Outputchannels will show me Channel 1-8. 8-16 are outgrayed.
The secound DX168 have now the Output channel 17-24.
So i everytime need my mathskills

I hope you understand what i mean. My English is a little bit Roasted

Yes that’s correct. The device occupies 16 in and 16 out on the bus.

thx for your reply.

yes, thats a fact that i know.
so let me tell my question on a other way:

dx168-1: inputch: 1-16, outputch: 1-8
dx168-2: inputch: 16-32, outputch: 16-24

so where is outputch: 8-16?? in my SQ5 it outgrayed and not patchable.
i can use 16-24 as well. but this “bug” trigger me since i beginn to use my sq5.

It’s not a bug, but the way it’s designed.

A DX connection supports 32 x 32 in and out. There isn’t actually an ‘Everything IO’ device that utilises all of that for some reason, but it’s the theoretical maximum.

As the DX168 has 16 inputs, it actually takes up the first 16 inputs AND the first 16 outputs too, even though output sockets 9-16 don’t exist so are not available for patching.
The second lot of the 32 (17-32) are made available using the cascade socket, and therefore use 17-32 for both inputs and outputs, but outputs 25-32 are now not available.
