Church setting with the SQ5 and ME500 monitors system.

I am currently trying to configure our mixer for our band (all instruments and vocals) to be pre fader, pre mute but want our pre service audio from our Mac to follow fader so if it doesn’t get stopped, our band doesn’t hear it in their ears. Is this possible? I want to keep iMac audio going to ears so they have reference for special media and such.

I think it all depends upon what you route to the SLink ports to the ME.

We have a ‘Musak’ group where anything from our AVP/C, Kramer scaler (audio extraction), stereo jack inputs (e.g. phones) etc. are routed through. If you do the same trick, you should be able to route this group to your ME post fade.

I assume your individual instrumentalists and vocalists are going to be direct outputs routed to the MEs, in which case you will have a ‘global choice’ to make.

Even if something is playing through the MEs that shoudn’t be, that channel (or group of channels if combined at the ME end) can be muted by the band.
