SQ5 + AR2412 + AB168 and Sample Rate

I’m in the process of setting up a new SQ5. I’m a rookie and the SQ world is completely new to me. I’m looking for some confirmation that I’m headed in the right direction. I recently replaced a GLD80 with the SQ5, so my plan is to continue to use the AR2412 and AB168 for stage boxes. My connection flow is: SQ5 S-Link > AR2412 > AB168. (I also installed a Dante card, but I’ll get to that in another post)

My question is about ‘Sample Rate’. It’s my understanding that the AR2412 and the AB168 run at 48kHz and the SQ5 runs at 96kHz. Do I need to change the sample rate setting in the SQ5 to 48kHz in order to match the AR2412 and AB168? Some of the posts I’ve read along with the SQ5 user guide appear to indicate that the SQ5 handles the communication automatically with no user intervention required. I just want to be sure before sparks fly.

Thanks!
Joe

No, you don’t need to change anything - you can’t also change anything.
Your console always runs at 96 kHz, and the data from the 48 kHz stage boxes is converted accordingly.

Never fear! The SQ has your back. Just enjoy mixing  The SQ will upsample from 48kHz. I too run the AB168 and for a long time we ran the mixer as 96. No issues

Thanks Steffen! All is good now with the SQ-5, AR2412, and AB168.
