SQ5 FOH mix and YouTube Livestream mix

we have a SQ5 mixer in our church. we’ve tried to solve this problem before but was not able to.

We have our FOH engineer who is physically available uses the sq mixpad on ipad along with the mixer
Our youtube livestream engineer is in a remote location
everyone on stage uses the SQ4u app for in ear mix

We connect the SQ to a mac mini to use over ethernet.

The problem is when we connect the ethernet. the wifi in the mac mini is not available. and the remote youtube engineer is not able to connect to the system to control the livestream mix. (we want to use the teamviewer to do this or any other similar software.

How do we work around this?

This sounds like an IT issue rather than an SQ issue.

Why are you not using a WiFi access point for the connection of WiFi-enabled devices (e.g SQ4You on phones) to the SQ desk and then you have a physical ethernet cable for connection to the internet?

Perhaps you could sketch and post a diagram of your configuration.

You also need to consider security aspects and keeping your audio network separate from other network traffic.

It sounds like you are connecting the SQ directly to the Mac without a switch? Otherwise the switch should be able to route all the network traffic between the different devices (including a wireless AP) without any issues. If this is the case, you need to put a router/switch in-between the console and the computer and connect all of the devices (SQ, Mac, wireless AP) to that switch.

Are you running into issues where you cannot connect all of the users to the SQ due to it’s limited network stack? (It only allows for 8 connections at any one time). Otherwise, why wouldn’t the livestream engineer just use a mobile device running MixPad or Mixing Station to control the livestream?
