SQ6 Aux / Matrix Outputs

I have an interesting set-up that I have inherited through several generations of unknown people. This set-up involves some 30+ y/o speakers run through some less ancient amps that are fed from a fairly recent SQ-6. Currently the side fills and subwoofers are set to come out of Aux buses, which is a pain. I have thought of changing these busses out for matrices, but that has it’s own issues. The trouble is the fills and subs are mono (full signal to each side of the room), which is great, but the matrices output in stereo (mirroring the L/R). Is there a way to get a matrix to output in mono as well (full signal on one output) OR is there a way to convince an Aux bus to reflect the fader positions of the Main Mix?

Thanks!

Both options are possible.
If possible, I prefer post fader aux mixes for such things.
But you can also easily switch a matrix from stereo to mono.

Thank you! This looks very helpful. How would I go about changing the Aux channels to post-fader? Is that in the next tab over, the Bus Config?

No - on page 48.
No offense intended, but in my opinion it would really be a good idea to at least read through the basics of the Reference Guide before working with such a console for the first time.

There are several ways to do that.
As @SQuser already suggested, read the reference guide. Or at least the Getting-started-guide.

None taken. I have quite a bit of experience with the Avantis, but that is a different board with a different interface. Reading the SQ manual is on my to-do list, right after locating the manual.

Thank you for your patience!

Yeah the SQ is very different (much more limiting) than the Avantis. Just like the Avantis is much more limiting than the DLive. It will certainly take some getting use to however and you’ll have to retrain yourself if you are used to the Avantis.
