SQ7, AR2412, Reaper Recording

Hey There, I have recently added an AR2412 stagebox to my setup. Now I can no longer record channels that are mapped through the AR2412 using Reaper. The setup is a computer connected to an SQ7 via USB, and then a AR2412 connected via Slink. Searching has turned up nothing as well as reading though the manuals and guides. What am I doing incorrectly?

Have you repatched your inputs in the recording patchbay to correlate to the new stagebox rather than (presumably) the local inputs you were using before?

Were you using Direct Outs for your patch to your DAW?
If so you will need to go back in to the IO page and redo them for the new box.

In order to USB record, you have correctly set-up the OUTPUT PATCH.

You can’t (from memory) record directly from a local input, but must use the INPUT PATCH to route the signal via a channel strip.

The same must apply to an S-Link input.

However, there may be a ‘trick’ you can use with tie lines (possibly). I have never used tie lines.

Ditto, I would guess the USB outs are still patched to local inputs.

If I may summarize both possibilities:
Either he’s using Tie Lines and now needs to repatch these to the SLink inputs instead of the local inputs in the Tie Lines patch.
Or he’s used Direct Outputs and different input channels for his stagebox than for his local inputs.
In this case, he would need to patch the “new” Direct Outputs for the recording in the Output patch.

I am using IP Direct Outs. The photos below represent how my patching is done. The IPs label Yellow Red Gray Blue Orange are the ones that I can no longer record after moving them to them 2412.

Photo of IP mapping.

If your 5 “color channels” previously worked with the local inputs for your mixes and recording, and you have only repatched them to stagebox inputs, they should work the same way again.
Is it actually the case that these 5 channels still work in your mixes, but not in the recording?

It looks like the inputs are on 12-16 and the USBs are on 15-19.

Thats exactly the case. They work fine everywhere live audio is routed. USB simply does not receive their audio so I can no longer multitrack record them in Reaper.

Yes, what you are seeing is what USB channel they are routed to. Its not a one for one association. I can route physical IP1 to USB5 if i wanted to. It will simply show up on the USB DAW as channel 5. This was all working just fine and I had no problem multitrack recording in Reaper until I added the AR2412.

I can’t explain it.
Just to be safe, also check or adjust your Direct Output settings.
There might be something set there that’s preventing the signal output.

To be more specific again:
Really all 5 Direct Outs work when you use the local inputs of these channels, but none of the Direct Outs work when you patch the 5 channels to the stagebox?
