I have an SQ seven with A waves card, With a sound grid server, and need to try and run a DAW Through a different Mac studio via Dante. Is this a possibility?
Not through Dante because Wave and Dante are not compatible protocols. However I believe there are Waves drivers that you can install on the computer which allows the computer to send/receive the data from the Waves system. This would allow you to use your Waves system with a DAW installed on the computer. This is by far the simplest solution. You will likely need to add a USB network adapter to the computer in order to have a hardwired network plug to use with the Waves system however (assuming you are using the built in network plug to connect to your regular network).
That being said, there are also some Dante/Waves “bridges” available. These are devices that connect to both the Waves and Dante systems and translates the protocols so that you can send data between the two systems. By adding a bridge, you could send Waves audio to Dante devices and vice versa. However these bridges tend to be very expensive. Unless you need to connect other Dante devices to the Waves system, the first option would be much easier and cheaper to implement.
