SQ7 dropping out of Soundgrid network

So am setting up SQ7 with soungrid network. The I/O card is connected to the a network switch recommended by waves and soundgrid network is connected to the switch too. On the SQ7, audio is routed to the superrack through the channel insert send and return. The problem is that the M wave i/O keep disconnecting after running for few munites. The clock and sample are good. I dont know if am doing something wrong or why is the card dropping off the network. Help Help Help

I would remove the switch from the equation for testing purposes. The A&H Waves card has two ports which allows you to use one port to connect the console directly to the soundgrid server and the second port to connect your “control” computer directly to the card.

If your system is stable in this configuration, then you know it is a switch issue. - probably a configuration issue with a particular setting in the switch. If the system remains unstable, then you are going to have to do some more testing to see if the problem lies with the server or the Waves card.

Thank you for that responce, so i went ahead and isolate the network switch and tested again but unfortunately, the card went off again.

attached is my settings and picture before the problem

I will send picture again after it fail.

I’m not super familiar with Waves as I’ve never set up a system myself. However looking at your screenshots, it appears that you have both the Console and the Waves card set to get their clocking from “internal” sources.

Internal means they are pulling the clock from their respective “networks”. The console is getting it’s clock from the internal clock in the SQ and the Waves card is trying to get it’s clock from the “internal” Waves system

This means you have two different clocks running which would absolutely explain why the system fails after a period of time (when the clocks drift too much). Long story short, I believe you need to set one of the two clocks to be “external”.

A&H tends to recommend that you use the internal clock in the SQ and set any I/O cards to clock “externally” (which means they are getting the clock externally from themselves - which is the A&H internal clock in the case). However it really doesn’t matter which one you choose to be external IMHO.
