I have a SQ7 that when turned on shows nothing on the screen at all, and has an LED flashing back and forth across the select buttons.
This device is fairly new and was previously working properly with the installed system.
I have even tried a ‘Hard Reset’ as directed by the vendor without any luck. Actually, the ‘Hard Reset’ on start-up has absolutely no effect on the device whatsoever and it continues to flash the same LEDs back and forth.
Bummer. Haven’t had it happen on my SQ but has happened on my GLD twice where it needed to go in to have the SSD replaced. I would follow the directions of support and be prepared to have to request a repair order and ship it.
Only other thought is just to try booting with absolutely nothing connected except power and remove any I/O cards you may have installed.
Channel LED’s running from left to right (if that is what’s happening) signifies the SQ is in a forced firmware update state.
With a drive connected and recognised, the LED’s should then run back and forth.
If the drive contains firmware, the first LCD scribble strip will illuminate to show this, and pressing the Mute key will install it.
You will not lose any stored data unless you carry out a factory reset following the firmware installation.
Please contact us directly through support.allen-heath.com with more details of your unit and setup however, so we can work out why your unit got into this state.
