Sudden massive signal spike across whole desk

Any advice would be appreciated..
I was at home prepping for a gig. I had a stereo input from my pedal board on a pair of local inputs.. I’m monitoring off LR on the headphone out.
The only channels not muted are the channels from my pedal board which has a grace felix and some UA gear.. I’m noodling on a mandolin.

When suddenly all hell breaks out..
It seems like every channel is suddenly maxed out according to the PK meters. LR is in the red and there is cracking electric sound so loud I rip my headphones off instinctively and turn off the desk. Was not an audio feedback. My partner runs in from the other room- she heard it through the open backs of my DT880 and thought I had been electrocuted!

Nothing untoward is happening on my pedal board.
I turn the desk back on and it is fine. So far it has not re-occured.
Thanks to the heavens there was no PA and no audience.

What could this be? I am on SQ5 on 1.6.1 r4874
Has anyone else had this?
I guess I need to send for attention / a service…

It seems there have been at least similar cases before (see example link).
However, as is unfortunately so often the case here, after they announce their ends of the world, nothing more is heard from them.
They prefer to keep the further course of events, or even a possible solution to a problem, secret.
You could only still try contacting these fellow sufferers via private message.

Thank you so much.

On the one hand it is good news that it is a known issue.. on the other this is TERRIBLE news… can I take this mixer to a gig??
Is it service repairable?
Does using a stage box prevent it from occuring ? (Normal I use a DX168 even in my studio)?

Oh no…..

Oooh Nasty! Did you have the stage box connected? Network connected? Do you have any cards installed?
