Within our company, we operate both S7000 and S5000 control surfaces. In a production scenario, we may need to replace an S7000 surface that is currently in operation with an S5000, as the S7000 is required for another production.
Is it straightforward to swap the control surface while keeping the same system configuration? How does an S7000 surface layout translate or adapt when operated on an S5000 surface?

The Show files are interchangeable. If moving from the larger Surface to the smaller Surface, the “extra” channels simply don’t show up on the smaller Surface. If moving from the smaller Surface to the larger Surface, some channels won’t be programmed into the larger Surface and they will simply appear as unused.
Long story short, it’s only the physical layouts that might need adjusting depending on the actual Surface being used. Everything else will be the same and is interchangeable without any issues.
