I had to update my console to 1.6 today due to our musicians’ SQ4U apps auto-updating overnight and losing compatibility with 1.5. Unfortunately something in firmware 1.6 causes the console to hang for a few seconds once I trigger a cue change from TheatreMix or the console itself.
This also causes a disconnect in MixPad and all of the SQ4U clients. I’m wondering if there’s some network bug in the new firmware that causes this. Either way it’s making it quite inconvenient as we’re in tech week and now can’t use the cues we already programmed…
I just ran into this same issue with my SQ-7 tonight. Updated firmware to get the SQ4U working for my pit orchestra. TheatreMix no longer works and our show opens tomorrow. This caused an hour of paniced reprogramming of an entire musical.
Understandable! Thankfully we still have half a week before opening to rewrite our cues.
I reached out to James at TheatreMix and he said there were some changes in the data structure of the firmware and there is no workaround available. He’ll try to push an update to TheatreMix but it won’t be until April at the earliest.
Really unfortunate timing for this! I had already purchased the license as well.
