At this moment when you are working on some gain staging using the output of a compressor, the selection of the touch and turn know doesn’t follow if you move between different types of compressors or if you are going from a channel to a group etc. 
You need to select (touch) the parameter first to change the parameter.
There are different ways to change compressor parameters. And these follow the selected channel if you like.
