Trouble connecting to Offline AHM32

Just wondering if anyone has had an issue connecting to the Offline AHM32?

I am working on a config for a church at present using V1.61, and initially did a basic config offline on the AHM32. I have since uploaded this to the installed unit, but can now no longer access the offline editor to make changes away from the installation, which is a bit of a pain!

I am getting the message ‘Unable to connect to Offline AHM-32 (Invalid user name or password)’ as soon as I select the Run Offline AHM-32 button.

I have tried uninstalling and a fresh install, but makes no difference. I can run 16 and 64, and also 32 on earlier versions.

Any ideas?

The editor software version and the device’s firmware version need to match. If you upgraded the firmware version, you need to download and install the appropriate editor version.

Obviously the easiest way to handle this is to upgrade both to the latest available version.

PS - you can have different versions of the editor installed on the computer. This means you do not need to uninstall the older software if there are still devices out there that you need to connect to that are still on the older firmware version. You just need to open/start the appropriate version for the hardware you want to connect to. This is helpful when you have a situation where you need to be able to connect/service several different devices that have different firmware versions.

I’ve sorted the issue, did a full uninstall, also found all associated files for v1.61 and deleted these as well. Then did a fresh install, can now access offline manager for all models.

We are just about to order the AHM unit. We have been overall happy with the SQ-6 but thought I would get familiar with the AHM-32 offline version before ordering the hardware.
It ran fine for first day, now on second day offline AHM-32 says " Unable to connect to Offline AHM-32 (invalid user name or password) " This is annoying as i was going to train some staff on the software before we receive it. Now we are holding off ordering.
I tried ‘*robertpaterson’*s fix and i had uninstalled program and removed every associated file. Question is there hidden files somewhere that I can’t seem to find? Are they called something different?
Obviously I have tried rebooting between installs and uninstalls and it does not seem to fix the problem. Repeatedly scanning for files and installing and uninstalling and then rebooting is tedious and not a good look for software.
This strictly refers to the offline program which clearly still has some glitches as referenced in the above email and on a couple of external forums.

So, what is the fix? Version 1.61 and on a work supplied windows computer Win 11 up to date and no issues with other software and please don’t just say uninstall and reinstall that doesn’t work. If I have to do fixes continuously, the software takes this unit out of the running for a new front end processor as we will have various staff using the software as needed according to their ability levels.

My own personal computer runs Linux which just seems to work better than either of the 2 other OS’es why doesn’t A&H make a Linux version ? Then trouble shooting and repairing would be so much easier and of course the software would be more secure and flexible.

I kept at it and 4th or 5th time (lost track) it seemed to work correctly. Not sure why it took so many unintalls/reinstalls/delete file processes.
It was like the program would just not let go of the computer, or conversely computer would not let go of program.

On a side note having a page that comes up with ‘user/password errors’ but does not have any fields to correct it or change it seems quite backwards and not user friendly.

Also uninstall should just work, it should uninstall. It doesn’t give a lot of faith in software if it won’t uninstall when one wants it to. Although it did appear that everything was removed each time, I am guessing it wasn’t really removed, there must be some sort oif file persistance there.

I havent had this issue before but if I do I know just keep repeating process over and over and it will eventually work. I also wonder if our external IT company somehow has made a setting that doesn’t allow files to be immediately deleted. I have another non IT controlled laptop sandboxed for our department that I will try with this app. Being a sandboxed laptop I scrutinize all software before installing, even from ‘known’ vendors. I was just exploring Offline editor with office computer when I had this issue.
