Turn MIDI Out into a Thru?

I haven’t seen this mentioned yet…

I’d like to see the MIDI Out on the surface be able to be used as a Thru. For example…

-V-drums on the stage

-Recording DAW at FOH

-V-drums sound like donkey death for recording

-Would like to plug MIDI Out of V-Drum module to MIDI In of MixRack

-MIDI Out on iLive surface (would become a Thru) and I could plug that into the MIDI In of my DAW and record the MIDI data for later drum replacement in the studio with DFH Superior or BFD.

The alternative is Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer on the iPodTouch or iPhone, but then I can’t use Tweak  [:o)]

Is this possible with a future Firmware update?

Pretty sure you can port MIDI over the iLive now. You don’t need a Thru. Just connect at the mixrack MIDi in, Surface MIDI out and it should work for normal MIDI messages (although I haven’t tried it myself). Have you tried this?

Just wondering… why connect the V-drum module to the mixrack? Will you for instance initiate scene changes with some drumhit or so?

If Mixrack can’t do it → MIDI Solutions…

Ya know, I haven’t tried it… perhaps I should try it. Imagine that idea

I will try it and let you know.

I wouldn’t be triggering scene changes, althought that sounds cool and would be very “Rush-esque”. I just want to send the MIDI data from the vdrums to the recording DAW MacBook Pro at the FOH.

Thanks peeps!

that works (i always record keyboard midi when i do live recording)

cheers
