I started a new post, and I removed it by a wrong click during editing it after my initial post. I was happy the see that my text was still there, Too bad you can’t undelete the text. So I started the topic again.
If you accidentally delete a Reply, it is possible to undelete it within 24 hours I believe using the undo icon:
However in this case you deleted a Topic as it was the first (and only) post and at present I believe only Moderators can un-delete a Topic. This isn’t a setting we can change unfortunately, I believe this is how the forum software itself works.
If there’s any change to this we will implement it for users!
As you say, you can still access the text itself so at least you can copy-and-paste into a new Topic 
As a remark: if you write a reply, you can save it for finishing it later. Very nice.
