I have Updated my iDR 48 from Editor (v1.80), now i want to Update my Surface with USB flash card but it has not find the Firmware from USB!!!
Now iDR 48 is on v1.80 and surface on v1.71 , how can i update my Surface???
You will need to unzip the firmware on your computer and put the firmware folder you just unzipped in to the root of the usb drive. Then the console should see the firmware. It is a little confusing because on a mac editor you need to have the zipped file but, with a console you need the unzipped file.

Root-is it spec.Folder? where i must copy unzipped frimware
The folder " Firmware" must be in the root (first) directory of the USB stick.

i do it as you say, but Surface still have not see the Frimware for Update !!!
have a same problem…
try to change your USB , i have used a Kingston 1GB,Verbatim 2GB and they are not supported with surface!!!
i have updated it with Ipod Classic 80GB
