USB and SD are not recognized in QU5. Unable to update from 0.9.0

Hello everyone,

I received my new qu5 today and was very happy about it. When I turned it on for the first time, an inscription appeared on the screen about the need to update the firmware. I formatted the usb drive according to the instructions, but the mixer does not read the flash drive (“invalid”). I’ve tried different flash drives (USB 2.0 and USB 3.0). I formatted in fat32 on both mac and windows. The result is the same. The only mention of a similar problem I found in “Release Notes”: “ID-990 - When updating from V0.9.0 (pre-production) or V1.0.0 firmware, USB storage not already formatted to FAT32 is not recognized and cannot be formatted using the Qu”. But my flash drive is not recognized already formatted.
I tried plugging the SD card into the slot and the result is the same.
I have not been able to find a solution to this problem anywhere.
The firmware is currently 0.9.0

You followed?
Maybe try the MixPad app.

Unfortunately, in the “firmware release notes”, MixPad support has been announced since version 1.1.0.
This is the first time I have encountered such difficulties in updating hardware. I am sure that my QU is not unique and there is some simple solution that is not described in the instructions.

Yes, I formatted on Windows according to these instructions.

Can you post a pic from the drive’s “formatting window”? I mean for more info about format, and partition details.

The problem has been solved. All the flash drives I used were working and tested. Apparently, QU5 did not support USB 2.0 on firmware 0.9.0. It also does not recognize flash drives formatted in FAT on mac os on this firmware. Previously, I formatted USB 2.0 flash drives in windows (FAT 32kb) and it didn’t work. But today I formatted a USB 3.0 flash drive in windows and QU5 identified it. Then the update went as in the manual.

Thanks for the quick feedback.

I’m going to study the mixer functionality.
