Usb-b length

Does anybody know how long the usb-b length can be between the cq 20-b and a computer if you want to connect it to a daw? I would like to connect it in a home recording and rehearsing setup. But would like to use a 5 or 4,5 meter long cable. (16,4 ft. or 14,76ft.) so i won’t have to be to afraid of people tripping and everything crashing.
But i read about that there are maximum distances for usb cables that can be used.

Hope someone could help me out.

With regards,

Hi Coen,

The USB 2.0 specification limits the length of a cable between USB 2.0 devices (full-speed or hi-speed) to 5 meters (or about 16 feet and 5 inches).

If the cable is good quality and within specs - maximum 5m - you’ll be able to link your CQ to your computer no problem.

Cheers!

1 usually run my show with an IPad to the CQ with a 10m USB cable.

For recording multiple channels from the cq to a daw on your ipad?

I have used a 10m cable with an active repeater. Strangely I find this to play up (with the CQ and an Behringer XR18) when converting to USB-C (no problem on an older laptop with USB-A), except when using a USB Hub on my MacBook
