USB-c for audio input from computer

Hello all! New to digital mixing and new to the Qu7. I am simply trying to run Qlab audio into the mixer. I selected USB input 1 assigned to fader 10. That is then routed to Main L/R. I was only getting sound from the right. (other inputs have been coming out of both left and right speakers-this is only the usbc input). All of the settings on the Mac are correct for 2 channel usb send. How do I set this up? Do I need a stereo pair of faders? How can I do that? The USB is confusing me as to the USB-a routing or does the console know that I am assigning for usbc. If you have an easy step by step for getting stereo sound from a Mac, I am so grateful for the help!

Thanks!

A stereo source will always use two (mono) channels. However this has to be routed correctly at all stages of the audio path. For example, in Qlab, a stereo output should be assigned to two USB outputs - USB output 1 and USB output 2 for example. Then at the QU level, you would want to route USB Input 1 and USB Input 2 to a pair of channels - like channel 9 and channel 10. You can also set this pair of channels as a single stereo channel so that you only have to worry about a single fader, a single EQ instance, etc. But a stereo channel will still use two mono channels per stereo channel - a mono right channel and a mono left channel of audio.

Just keep in mind that if you haven’t assigned this routing correctly at every stage, you won’t get the audio you expect. For example, even if you assign USB Input 1 and USB Input 2 to channels 9 and 10 in the console, you might still only hear the right audio channel if you didn’t also assign Qlab’s USB 1 and USB 2 outputs correctly.
