Using a Managed Switch with SQ and AR2412

Couldn’t recover the old account, so I set up a new one with almost the same user name.

I’m attempting to set up a system where a console with SLink can be connected to an AR2412 from two or 3 different locations. I’d like to do that without having to do any extra patching at the stage box end. Seems like there are plenty of examples of people using VLANs to send other data as well, but I’m perfectly happy to just send the audio back and forth.

I’ve tried it, with an SQ Rack and AR2412. The switch needs to be set to 100baseT on all ports, and it passes audio in both directions, but instead of getting a nice 1 Hz flashing yellow LED at the SLink and dSNAKE ports,I have a solid red indication instead. The “READY” LED on the front of the AR2412 does light solid, like it should. None of the old posts mention this. What am I missing?

You need more than just setting port speed.

Everything needs turned off on that vlan/those ports. No spanning tree, no bpdus, no discovery etc. Anything the switch injects into those ports needs disabled. It needs to appear as a completely dumb device
