Using compressor on MainLR distorts/grains the track

I notice a kind of distorted sound when listening in with headphones on the MainLR and also on recors from MainLR.

Only after many months I found out that when I turn off the (standard) compressor on MainLR, which I had been using since many months, this distortion disappears.

So, I’m wondering if there is a bug related to the compressor on MainLR? I don’t have any issues using compressors on the Input channels, and not on the Matrix busses either. The MainLR channel feeds:

  • A mono matrix (Local 11 and SLink 13 (AR84 expander))
  • another mono matrix (Local 10 and SQlink 15 (AR84)) for the subs
  • another mono matrix with a delay (Local 7 and SQlink 16 (AR84))
  • a stereo matrix (USB 1 and 2)

The compressor settings is (was) quite soft (usually sth. between 1.6:1 and 1.9:1):

Why the 7dB of make up gain here?

Could that be your problem?

Agreed, as is there’s very light compression going to happen at his 1.6:1 ratio, so it’s not likely digging deep that would make 7 dB makeup gain warranted. Might not even need any makeup gain.
