If I wanted to run all my vocal mics to a group and use the UltraFX auto tune to correct all vocals at once instead of using an insert, is this possible? If so what would be my steps?
The works the same way as using standard fx…

You can use the “buss” method, or the “insert” method just like regular FX slots.
If you use an FX buss, you will assign the available FX buss as the FX source/return (on the “back plate” of the FX settings page. You will then have to send whatever channel(s) audio (the vocal channels in this case) to that FX buss.
Alternatively, if you could use a group that you have assigned all of your vocal channels to, and then insert the desired FX in one of the group insert points.
Personally I use the first method because it allows me more finite control over how much of each vocal is getting the FX treatment, but either method will work.
The nice thing about the RackUltra FX slots is that they already have FX slots assigned to them that do not “count” towards your 42 user assignable busses. So unlike a regular FX slot, you can use the first method without using any of the 42 assignable busses.
EDIT - I didn’t realize the OP was asking about the vocal tuning plugin specifically. With that plugin, you want to insert a unique tuning plugin on each vocal channel you want “tuned.”
Theoretically you could just insert the effect on your vocal group, making sure your group is assigned to LR, and not your vocal inputs.
That said, I don’t expect the tuning to work particularly well with multiple vocals hitting it. some vocals may be sharp, and others flat, and I suspect it won’t be able to deal with that.
Try it in rehearsal first, but I don’t imagine it will be super successful…
I didn’t read the OP enough to realize they want to run the Vocal Tune FX. I would agree that you don’t want to send multiple vocals to a single vocal tuning plugin.
We insert a unique instance of the vocal tuning FX on each vocal channel we want to tune. Yes, it can quickly eat into your 8 available RUFX slots.
Yeah, it eats them real quick since they don’t work right in dual mono mode.
Speaking of which, does anyone what do it does when left & right are out of tune by different amounts?
