I have a avantis with a Waves V3 Card. I have 33 multitrack channels and 22 Soundgrid channels. Is it possible and safe to use 2 connections from the waves card to one soundgrid macbook and another connection for the multitrack recordings?
Yes. The ports on the Waves card are switched which means you can plug multiple devices into the different ports and each device will receive all of the channels being routed out of the card.
As such, there is no way to have only the 33 channels to one port and 22 channels to another port, but that isn’t necessary as the software at the other “end” (ie the Soundgrid software and recording software) will handle the channel assignments/routing internally. You will simply assign whatever channel you want to record in the recording software and whatever channels you want processed/returned in the Waves software.
I tested the setup and i think i have a IP issue, because only one connected devices is working. If i put out the cable of 1 PC, the other wil start to work.
I have 1 Soundgrid superrack setup, and another computer with Qrec and livetrax. The don’t still working together. Do you have IP settings tips?
I tried another setup. 1 UTP line from the waves card to a netgear switch and then split the signal. In superrack soundgrid i patch the channels to the another device, but here is the problem i can use only 32 channels? How can i increase that?
