What is the difference between wedge and aux?

Newbie. On our A&H GL3300, you use AUX for monitors sends. I thought that’s what I should do with the GLD. But now I see these things called wedges and IEM, are they special AUXs?

FYI you are in the wrong forum, you are in the iLive, not the GLD section.

IEMs and Wedes are ways of assigning mix for a dual-listen function setup, where the mix engineer has both IEMs and Wedges, so he or she can listen to the wedge mixes in the wedge, and IEMs in his IEMs.
