Wireless MIDI transmission

Hello,

Let me introduce myself briefly. I’m a saxophonist and pianist, and I own, among other things, a CQ18T mixer and a recent iPad.

When I perform on the saxophone, I use a fantastic app: FORSCORE (on my iPad).

I’ve integrated my sheet music with the corresponding audio files for each piece. Forscore can send the audio to my CQ18T (via USB cable or Bluetooth) and also MIDI information (only via Bluetooth, I believe). And that’s precisely what I’m wondering about…

I would like to transmit program changes from my iPad (forscore) corresponding to Scenes stored on my CQ18T (these scenes would contain all the mix settings for each piece (Levels, Effects, etc…

There you have it, I hope that’s clear.

My question is: Which wireless MIDI interfaces do I need? There are:

“Yamaha Wireless MD-BT01 5-PIN DIN MIDI Adapter” or “Yamaha Wireless UD-BT01 Bluetooth USB to Host MIDI Adapter”.

But would these be suitable?

Thank you for your help.

Sincerely.

Hello.
Why not sending Midi via USB alongside with the audio ?

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

Obviously, I would prefer a cable connection.

I’m not entirely familiar with these aspects.

Could you elaborate on your thoughts?

(I sent you a private message)

Thank you very much.

I don’t know Forescore but I can imagine that it can send midi.
If you are using a usb cable to connect your ipad to the CQ for audio, you can also send midi Program Change via the same USB cable to the CQ in the same time.
In Forescore, check you midi device once connected to the mixer you should be able to see it.
