Hi everyone.
I am writing to express my concern about an issue I’m having with my new Xone K3.
Like many of the recent posts, my problem is with the LED of a button, but not the same problem that has already been mentioned and that’s why I’m writing this.
One of the buttons at the bottom part of the unit has an issue with its red LED. If purple is selected as the colour for that button, for example, half of the button will ccasionally flicker to blue, indicating the absence of the red LED on the right side of the button. I imagine there are two sets of LEDs (RGB left and right).
I have of course tested it with the button set to red and indeed half of the button loses its colour when a flicker happens.
I have seen this happen when the unit turns on (flashing the rainbow) and during latched layers setup, which leads me to believe that the problem is not related to midi configuration.
I am having trouble identifying if this is a software or a hardware issue because the behaviour is only occasional. One hour or more might pass before it manifests.
It might have started when I connected my old K2 alongside it. But I’m not sure as I only used it one day before this started happening and I don’t see how that would have affected it.
Could anybody that is knowledgeable in electronics advise me if this is a faulty LED connection or a software/firmware issue?
Has anybody else experienced anything similar? I imagine this would be a common issue if it was a firmware issue.
The LED can go one hour or more without flickering. I wasn’t able to pinpoint a trigger. The button in question is : at the bottom group above the encoders, from top to bottom and left to right, second row-third button.
Otherwise the unit functions perfectly so I would like to avoid a return if it is indeed a software issue that might be fixed eventually.
Regards,
