I have another Question about the Xone K3 Controller.
I just got my second K3 to complete my Setup. After my Mapping was done i finally tried the whole Setup and found this Problem on Traktor.
When 2 K3´s are connected to my Macbook Pro with the USB-C Cables, Traktor recognizes them in the MIDI IN/OUT Section with the exact same name (XONE K3). This causes trouble every time i restart Traktor or reconnect the K3´s to the Mac. Traktor doesn´t remember which K3 is which in this case. So i have to open the Traktor Settings, go to the Controller Section and reassign the MIDI IN/OUT for both Units over and over again and i always have to try both K3 IN/OUT Units because i never know which one is the first and which is the second one. They will light up when u have picked the right one, it’s like playing the Lottery every time. It is sooooo annoying !
When i connect both K3´s via X-Link on my Xone 96 Mixer, the Controllers have different Names, XONE 96 MIDI and XONE 96 MIDI PARTNER so Traktor can recognize them easily BUT heres another little Problem. When using X-Link Connections the LEDs of the K3´s are always in OFF State and i have to Push all the Buttons to make them light up and showing the true State they are in. This happens every time i restart the Controllers or the Software im using with them. So with X-Link, Traktor and Ableton simply forgets the State of the LED´s. This is also very annoying.
So both of these Connections mean trouble for me and it’s not fun using my K3´s at all. Makes me wanna quit and stop using them. Its sad.
So the Question is, is there any way of renaming the Controllers for Traktor to recognize them as XONE K3 -1 and XONE K3 -2 ?
I know u can rename them in the Xone Controller Editor, but unfortunately the name you give them in the Editor is not used or recognized by Traktor. In Traktor they are simply called XONE K3. Doesn´t matter if you connect only one or both K3´s. Traktor always uses the same MIDI Name for both units. Funny thing: My Xone K2 Controllers were always recognized by Traktor as K2 -1 and K2 -2. So why is this happening? This behavior is so strange.
I really hope someone can help me out with this. It really sucks.
